Liz and Andy headed to the Bahamas with 80 family members and friends, for their wonderful wedding at the beautiful Cloisters on Paradise Island.

The ceremony was followed at Atlantis with a cocktail hour featuring Cuban cigar rollers and a steel drum band, before the party really started with the reception at the Fathoms restaurant. The highlight of the reception – a ‘rush-out’ by a local Junkanoo group, which was amazing (i’ve seen a lot of these groups, but these guys were awesome!)

Despite one of the biggest rain storms I’ve seen in years, Crystal and Jason made the most of their wedding day at Compass Point the way only New Yorkers can!

78 friends and family braved the weather to gather on the stunning Compass Point dock, as the couple exchanged their vows after a mere seven years together. The ceremony was followed by some serious partying, with a true New York celebration that lasted long after my work was done!

Hidden on the tiny Rose Island, just off Paradise Island here in the Bahamas, is a very special place called Sandy Toes. And this is where two very special people, Jess & Declan, chose to get married. A far cry from the grey skies of their native England, this wonderful couple made the most of their day, and after a wonderful ceremony at the water edge, danced the night away under the stars with guests who had joined them from around the world.

April 14th marked the date of the 7th annual Ride For Hope here in the Bahamas, and so, as I have for the past 6 years, I flew to the beautiful Governor’s Harbour in Eleuthera to shoot this amazing event.

This year, the event reached new heights, with over 600 riders, young, old, athletic and not-so-athletic, cyclists riding to raise money for cancer research in the islands. They were joined by over 200 volunteers and support staff, who helped the organisers ensure everything went without a hitch, and the event has so far raised over $200,000 this year with more still rolling in.

Amongst the riders were my wife and daughter, who were riding for the second year. It was kiddo’s first ride without her training wheels, and she was sick as a dog with the flu, but she still managed to complete 6 miles (two laps of the kids loop). I, of course, am awesomely proud of her for that! (it’s not too late to sponsor her if you want to – you can do it at her fundraising page)

My job on the day was an easy one – capturing these amazing people who have chosen to ride their butts off in order to raise money for the cause. Some rode three miles, some rode 100 miles. Some rode for personal reasons, others rode for fun. Some rode with a company team, others in families, and others still rode alone. They covered thousands of miles in total, and every single one finished with a smile on their face.

Well done to each and every one of you!

One last thing before I go – if you’re in the Bahamas – get involved next year!!

Last week, I headed off to Treasure Cay in Abaco for Heather and Zac’s wedding at the beautiful Bahama Beach Club resort. After a beautiful ceremony on a powder soft Abaco beach, the bride, groom and around 70 guests partied the night away before sending Heather and Zac off under an arch of sparklers.

I had the honour of photographing Sonnie and Justin’s wedding at the Poop Deck at Sandyport here in The Bahamas last week. On a secluded strip of beach, around 30 guests watched as Sonni and Justin said their vows in front of a perfect blue ocean,under an even more perfect blue sky.

Saturday found me at the British Colonial Hilton, here in Nassau, photographing the wedding of B & R. The wedding consisted only of the two of them, accompanied by B’s daughter, and was held on the Hilton’s stretch of beach under perfectly blue skies, and beside perfectly turquoise water.

So, there do the cowboy boots come in? Read on!

Being from Texas, B decided that the sand and sea weren’t going to stop her from wearing her favourite pair of cowboy boots during the ceremony, which is exactly what she did!I think this was a first for me – I’ve seen all kinds of shoes, flip flops and bare feet, but never boots before!

A short, but beautiful wedding, for a wonderful couple who I hope I’ll get to see again! Congrats guys!

Despite the coldest of cold fronts over us, and the wind blowing hard off the ocean, R & M’s wedding at the Wyndham Resort & Casino in Nassau flowed without a hitch from start to finish.

While not the weather you expect for your destination wedding in the Bahamas, the cold didn’t stop R & M from enjoying every moment of their day, from getting ready, to their first kiss, to the last dance at their very lively reception! And they weren’t the only ones who enjoyed it – the guests danced up a storm, and even the wedding photographer had a blast!

I had the pleasure of photographing Stacey and Tim’s wedding at Atlantis recently. Desipite some slightly wet weather, the day was beautiful, and as always, I met some great people, and, I hope, made some great images!

My first shoot of the new year was also pretty new – Baby A, at only 4 weeks old.

A departure from my primary business of weddings, the shoot was still great fun, although not without its own quirks and difficulties. With my own daughter now 7 years old, I’d forgotten that babies, especially at a month old, are not particularly good at following instructions, or doing what you want them to do. Baby A was no exception, and decided he wanted to spend an hour or so clinging to his mummy, and being somewhat grumpy if moved from her arms!

Eventually, with a full tummy and some coaxing, he allowed us to lay him down and make a few photos before giving up the fight and falling to sleep!
